MAREMAR

MAREMAR, the new production by DAGOLL DAGOM, premièred in September at the Poliorama Theatre.

 Since the company was first established forty-four years ago, it is their first foray into the works of Shakespeare. The production is based on “Pericles, Prince of Tyre”, one of Shakespeare’s lesser known plays, which has never been performed in Catalonia or Spain. The music in the production is based on the songs of Lluís Llach, who has always been motivated by a concern for social and historical injustice. At the same time, the sea,and in particular the Mediterranean, have always been a cornerstone of Llach’s work, characterised by a legacy of strikingimages and familiar melodies. 

His song MAREMAR sparked the name of this production, as it contains inspirational metaphors that connect the poetic universe of Shakespeare with that of Lluís Llach.
